With the evolution of gender roles and an overall awakening of humanity has come a reexamination of the purpose and function of marriage. Leaning on the antiquated belief, “marriage is the only respectable option,” has seemed to cause more harm than good. Instead of holding tightly to a relationship structure that is not suitable for everyone, perhaps allowing your own life and personal needs to define the types of relationships you invite and dismiss from your life is a better answer.
